Camp Fire Therapy - Art, Music and More!

A place to relax and enjoy music art cartoons, and more fun stuff.

A friend of mine who lives in San Francisco, California wrote to me about the annual Burning Man Festival. Apparently, a huge tribe of geeks, freaks, weirdos, whackos, vendors, and curiosity seekers, gather together in the Nevada desert to party and shed themselves of bad vibes they accumulated during the past year.
This soul cleansing is achieved by casting their negativity, fears, phobias, and bad vibes into a huge central bonfire that is in the shape of a man. Something like the movie...The Wicker Man...but, without the human and animal sacrifice. At least let's hope so.

Anyway, it occurred to me that this same principle and ritual could be likewise practiced at our own campfire sessions. That is, we could construct a small "man" figure out of straw and sticks, write our fears and problems on pieces of paper, insert them or attach them onto our "straw man" and place it into the campfire kindling and light it up. The flames of the campfire would burn away all those nasty thoughts and memories and cleanse our psyches
and minds ritualistically. So, in the days that follow, whenever we become vexed with regret or guilt or whatever is
"harshing our mellow" we can remind ourselves that we burned up all that negative stuff in the flames of the Campfire Man session and it all went up in smoke and ash, allowing us to continue on our merry way.

I mean after all we don't call this page Campfire Therapy for nothing....right?
